Vielä ehdit David LaChapelle -näyttelyyn, jos eksyt Tukholmaan! Vuoden 2008 LaChapellen näyttely veti Tukholmassa niin paljon yleisöä, että vakituinen Ruotsin valokuvataiteen museo perustettiin 2010. Niinpä Fotografiskan kaikki 2500 neliötä on nyt pyhitetty tälle populäärikulttuurin suurelle. Muotivalokuvaajana tunnetuksi tullut kuvataiteilija ottaa kantaa moneen, välineenään ihmiskeho. Ei jätä kylmäksi. Näyttely päättyy parin viikon päästä.. 

You still have a chance to make it, if you visit Stockholm before march 3, 2013. LaChapelle´s  exhibition in Stockholm in 2008 was the one to convince that the city was ready for "Swedish Museum of Photography", the opening took place in 2010. Now the museum has devoted all the 2500 square metres to this the big name in popular culture. The famous fashion photographer´s way to express is surreal.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN BUSY WITH THE LAST TWO MONTHS?
Working on new prints for summer 2014 for Marimekko. Designing illustrations for Hyundai Department store (South Korea). And working on a stamp project for Itella.

Tulip chair and table / Eero Saarinen, because the design is classic. I have had the chairs and table for twenty years, and I will never stop loving them. Always good looking and comfortable.
1960´s  and 50´s old Arabia cups, different colors, and patterns mixed together. You can make your own combination by mixing different patterns together!

COOKING OR BAKING?
Earlier baking now lately cooking. I like both.
NAME A DELICIOUS DISH / PASTRY YOU LOVE TO PREPARE.
Homemade pizza and sushi. For baking: tarte tatin, almond buiscuits, coupe choco banane...

MINDRE LOVES NYTORGET URBAN DELI..

Oli sitten aamiais- tai lounasaika, brunssin tai viinilasin hetki, Nytorget Urban Deli Tukholman Söderissä toimii - designviikolla tarkistettua! Paikka on yhdistelmä bistroa, deliputiikkia, baaria ja kauppahallia.. Hyvää konstailematonta ruokaa, mukavasti pientä hälinää: asiakkaina viinilasin ääreen kokoontuneita ystävyksiä, lounastelevia mammoja, kahvin ja lehden ääreen uppoutuneita kantakaupunkilaisia. Ja ostoksilla olevia: kaikkea löytyy paikallisten kauppakassiin piripirisoosista ostereihin. Mikä ihanan rento ja leppoisa paikka moneen, suosittelemme. Kiitos vinkistä lähtee muutamille elämännautiskelijaystäville!


Mindre tested Nytorget Urban Deli during Stockholm designweek. A perfect place to eat breakfast or lunch at, to enjoy brunch or a glass of wine. A combination of bistro, deli, wine bar and market hall.. Good food and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. It almost feels reasonable to do the grocery shopping in their deli shop far away from home in Stockholm. We had nice time. Thanks goes to our friends who recommended the place.

Lontoolaistunut suunnittelija tekee valtavirrasta erottuvia lamppuja. Olemme olleet vaikuttuneita hänen jutuistaan jo parin vuoden ajan, ja nyt hän kuratoi Svenskt Tenn -liikkeen näyttelyn huonekalumessujen aikaan Tukholmassa. Eli huomenna alkavalla viikolla. Ja ei se tähän lopu. Hän on myös suunnitellut muutamia uusia tuotteita tälle perinteikkäälle ruotsalaisyritykselle, jotka esitellään nyt. Paljon mielenkiintoista siis odotettavissa yhdessä lempikaupungeistamme! Mikä hänen tuotteissaan sitten, lamppu mukaan lukien, oikein viehättää? Hänen suunnittelemissaan jutuissa on veistosmaisuutta, mittasuhteet eivä pyytele anteeksi. Ne saavat eloa tilaan, niissä on hyvää arkkitehtonisuutta. Anastassiadeksen tuotteita on toisinaan vaikea sitoa aikaan, niistä ei oikein tiedä, ovatko ne vanhoja vai uusia. Tällainen tuote toimii monessa erilaisessa ympäristössä vanhenematta.

The designer lives in London nowadays. He´s lighting is like no other. We have admired his design a couple of years already, and now he is curating the exhibition at Svenskt Tenn during the Stockholm furniture fair. Starting the day after tomorrow. But there is even more. He is also designing some new products for this famous Swedish company. So there will be a lot to see in one of our favourite cities.. What makes his lighting so special, including the pendant in the picture? They are bold and sculptural, but still harmonious. They are architectural, he is good with the proportions. They are somehow timeless - sometimes it´s hard to say if they are new or old.

The famous fashion designer uses his iconic print also in the rug he has designed for this company. The only thing that prevents us from buying a rug from the Rug company is unfortunately the price tag. They only have beautiful designs in their collection..
